This will change soon, as seen in a feature ID 70801 entry on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. However, sometimes this need is unavoidable and until now Microsoft forced you to sign out of one account in order to sign in to another account.

Of course, there are workarounds where you can create separate profiles in a browser, use different browsers to separate your workflows, or just not be able to do personal things on a work machine, and vice versa. It’s an archaic user experience that feels more like a chore if you use multiple personal and business accounts in the same browser instance. If you want to use a different account instead, you must first sign out of your current account and then sign in to the other account. Until now, it was only possible to sign in to one Microsoft account in a browser at once.
